This is a mangrove on the Palisadoes strip at the Old Dock.

Mangroves are habitats for many animal species such as jelly fish and crocodiles. It is also a breeding ground for young fishes as the trees break the waves and there is relatively calm water in this area that will encourage the growth of roes. 

Mangroves also protect the shore line from hurricanes and tropic storms.
